By purchasing products or services from WeCutFoam, you acknowledge and agree to the following safety warnings and disclaimers.

1. Flammability and Fire Safety

WARNING: Foam is Flammable. Unless specifically certified as "Fire Rated" or "Class A Fire Retardant," most foam products are combustible.

  • Open Flames: Never expose foam products (raw or coated) to open flames, sparks, or high-heat sources (such as stage lighting that runs hot, welding sparks, or space heaters).

  • Combustion: If ignited, foam materials can burn rapidly and may produce dense smoke and toxic fumes.

  • Liability: WeCutFoam is not liable for damages, injuries, or fire hazards resulting from the improper placement, storage, or use of our products near heat sources.

2. Prototyping and Structural Integrity

Unless engineered drawings and load-bearing calculations were provided and specifically adhered to:

  • Non-Structural Use: Our foam products, props, and prototypes are generally intended for visual, display, or cosmetic purposes only. They are not designed to support human weight or heavy loads.

  • No Climbing: Do not sit, stand, or climb on foam props or signs unless they have been explicitly fabricated with an internal steel or wood armature designed for that purpose.

  • Modification: Cutting, drilling, or altering the product after delivery may compromise its structural integrity. WeCutFoam is not responsible for product failure following post-delivery modifications.

3. Outdoor Use and Weatherization

  • UV Exposure: Raw foam degrades quickly when exposed to direct sunlight (UV rays), turning yellow and becoming brittle. Products intended for outdoor use must be coated with a UV-resistant hard coat (such as Polyurea) or exterior-grade paint.

  • Wind Load: Large foam letters and signs are lightweight. If installed outdoors, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they are securely anchored to withstand wind loads. WeCutFoam is not responsible for damage caused by weather events or improper installation.

4. Chemical Safety and Off-Gassing

  • Inhalation: When sanding, cutting, or hot-wiring foam products yourself, adequate ventilation and respiratory protection (masks) must be used to avoid inhaling fumes or dust particles.

  • Reaction to Solvents: Many foams (especially EPS/Styrofoam) will melt instantly if they come into contact with petroleum-based solvents, spray paints, or glues. Always use water-based adhesives and paints unless the foam has been fully sealed with a barrier coat.

5. California Proposition 65 Warning

WARNING: Products sold by WeCutFoam mightn expose you to chemicals including Styrene and other compounds which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

6. Child Safety

Unless explicitly sold as a "toy" and tested against relevant safety standards:

  • Not a Toy: Custom foam props and prototypes are not intended for use by children.

  • Choking Hazard: Small pieces of foam can break off and present a choking hazard.

7. Limitation of Warranty

WeCutFoam warrants that products will meet the dimensional specifications provided in the approved quote/proof. However:

  • Products are provided "as is" without any other warranties, express or implied.

  • We disclaim any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine if the material and fabrication method are suitable for their specific application.
